The Dog Park at Empie is the result of the cooperative efforts of the Wilmington Dog Park Committee, a private citizen group, and two City departments, Community Services and Public Services.

About the Dog Park
Wilmington Dog Park at Empie is the first functional off-leash dog park in Wilmington. The park is incorporated into a 2-acre site of unused land within the confines of Empie Park.

In recent years, there has been growing interest in the Wilmington area for the creation of a park where pet owners can release there dogs to run freely without fear of vehicles or lost animals. The loss of beaches for this purpose and the recently passed leash law has added to the demand for this facility.

Location
The Dog Park is located at Empie Park at the corner of Independence Blvd and Park Avenue (behind Stein Mart). Enter the park from Park Avenue.
